Hello A==
I do not think that the title “Japan’s reluctance to give up its fax machines!” is appropriate, as no one I know around me in Japan has an idea of giving up his fax machines. The title has base opinion that the fax machines have to be diminished. But no one I know even dreams of such idea.
Fax machines have an invincible use that other equipment can not satisfy. It is direct transmission of handwritten material. You do not need a scanner or a keyboard, and you do not have to turn on your PC or you do not have to start some applications, if you simply have a fax machine when you send a handwritten material.
I very often show my client that fax DM to find potential customers in B2B business is highly efficient means. If you send an e-DM, it may be automatically sent to the trash box folder right at the receipt. If you send an envelope DM, it will reach the receiver’s hand but soon it may be thrown into actual trash cans without opening.
Whereas, a fax DM will reach the fax machine there and show the message immediately on the receipt. It will usually be handed by someone to the addressee, which means that the message on the fax letter is at least looked at by a few people. The number greatly increases if the recipient’s organization is dull enough to leave the fax DM for a while as it is received.
